Gingerbread Protein Bites

These chewy balls are on the bitter side as the taste of molasses is strong. They’re not everyone’s cup of tea but I like them a lot as they are not quite sweet and have this almost licorice flavour. Also, they keep you full!

 

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cups hemp protein powder (or any protein powder you have on hand)

  • 2 cups almond flour

  • 2 tbsp molasses

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

  • 4 tbsp peanut butter

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil melted

  • 2 tbsp coconut or almond milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp ginger

  • 1/4 tsp all spice

  • 1/2 tsp cardamom

  • Set aside a small bowl with 2 tbsp sugar mixed with cinnamon or cocoa powder to coat the balls

 
 

Method:

  1. Add all ingredients to a large bowl, mix well. If you find the consistency off, experiment by adding more powders - you can add more or less almond flour, even add some coconut flour.

  2. Mix into balls and coat in cinnamon sugar or cocoa powder.

  3. Freeze or store in the refrigerator
