Acrylic Pours

I decided to give acrylic pours a try. After doing some research and watching lots of online tutorials, I was ready.

What you need: plastic cups, wooden sticks, glue, acrylic paint, filtered water, hair serum. Resin is optional but I went ahead and opted for a shiny finish. The resin can be purchased at art supply stores but make sure you buy crafter’s resin and invest in a box of plastic gloves as you’ll be needing lots of those.

The 9 squares are my very first attempt at acrylic pours and I decided to use all 9 of my 8 x 8 canvases. Later on, I decided to purchase one wooden canvas and some inexpensive stones to mimic gemstones. I did a 3 panel piece with similar colours and stones which turned out pretty well.

The last piece measures 36 x 24 inches and is covered with stones, gold leaf, and silver leaf.
